Are you ever sitting at work and someone walks by with boxes of donuts to share with the office? They sweet smell just about kills me! But if I was to eat a donut every time they were available, i’d never reach my goals, and my body would definitely not feel good or perform at it’s best during my workouts.

But not all hope is lost. There are ways of satisfying your sweet tooth and keeping it in check! That’s why we made these Strawberry Lemon Poppyseed Donuts. We used IdealLean Protein in both the donuts and frosting making each serving a whopping 13g of protein! These donuts are the perfect post workout snack to refuel your glycogen storage, or smart addition to your breakfast in the morning!


Ingredients for our Donuts


  • 1 cup blanched almond flour  
  • 1 scoop IdealLean French Vanilla Protein  
  • ¼ cup baking stevia
  • 1 tbsp poppy seed
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • ¼ cup nonfat plain greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk  
  • 1 egg Frosting:
  • 2 tbsp greek yogurt cream cheese  
  • 1 scoop IdealLean Strawberries n Cream Protein
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk

Strawberry Lemon Poppyseed Donuts – High Protein Treat

  • Serves: 6
  • Yield: 6 donuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a donut pan with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Mix almond flour, IdealLean French Vanilla Protein, stevia, baking soda, and salt. Add lemon juice, lemon zest, greek yogurt, coconut oil, egg, and almond milk. Add poppy seeds and mix until combined.
  3. Transfer batter to a resealable plastic bag and snip corner. Pipe batter into donut molds.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden. While donuts are baking, whisk frosting ingredients until smooth and set aside.
  5. Allow donuts to cool for a bit, then top each one with strawberry glaze. Enjoy!
